Larry Nix worked as a mastering engineer at Stax Records in Memphis. He moved to Ardent Studios in midtown Memphis in 1970 where his son, Kevin Nix, joined him in 1994. Nix later formed his own company, now known as L. Nix Mastering, with his son before retiring in 2014.
Larry has mastered recordings for numerous artists including Al Green, Isaac Hayes, ZZ Top, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Parliament and The Staple Singers.
