Cheryl Graham is a writer based in Iowa City. A classically trained percussionist, she took up the drum kit when punk broke and never looked back. She played in various bands in her hometown of Tucson, Arizona, then went on to earn a Master’s degree in Fine Art from the University of Cincinnati. Her essays have appeared in several literary journals and print publications, and she writes about music for PopMatters. She still has a drum set in her spare room.
